5 Seconds of Summer, an Australian pop-rock band released their EP album, She Looks So Perfect on April 1 and it was an instant chart-topper at number 2 on the Billboard 200. The band, commonly known as 5SOS is currently touring throughout the US and Canada following their UK tour. This year 5SOS will also join One Direction for a second time as the opening act on their world tour.

The boys say that their unique sound was influenced by artists like Blink-182, All Time Low, and Ed Sheeran when they formed their band in 2011. While Luke Hemmings is 5SOS’ lead vocalist and plays guitar, each of the boys sings and plays an instrument.

“She Looks So Perfect,” was the band’s first single to make it to the top of the charts and was only bested by Frozen’s “Let it Go”. The song has an insanely catchy chorus that just makes you want to sing. The amusing, story-telling lyrics give you a glimpse at what the rest of She Looks So Perfect is like.

If you value quality over quantity, you will love both She Looks So Perfect and 5SOS as a whole. While the album only has four songs, each one is worth listening to, which can’t be said for every artist or every album.

One of the four songs on the album is a remake of The Romantics’ hit song “What I Like About You”, putting their own personal spin on the tune but basically keeping it the same. It was a nice addition to the album and brings some familiarity to it for those who haven’t yet been won over by the four australian teens: Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Ashton Irwin, and Calum Hood.

Of the album, my personal favorite is “Heartache on the Big Screen”. The beat and lyrics have a way of putting me in a good mood and a smile on my face. Like “She Looks So Perfect,” this unique song tells a story and paints a picture in your head that goes along great with the killer vocals and music.

Along with their awesome music, they have an awesome sense of humor! The music video for “She Looks So Perfect” could make anyone laugh and also gives you a good look at the four boys and a little insight to their personalities. If you haven’t already, be sure to look the video up on YouTube.

The album is available now on iTunes and on http://www.5sos.com/us-landing-page/ along with posters, bundles, and concert details.
