Fashion Police on E! Comes to VB

With so many award shows these past two months and all the celebrities that attended them, there’s a good chance you saw at least one dress you liked, but can’t remember who wore it or which award show she wore it to.  And it’s not like you have time to watch Fashion Police on the E! Network, so here’s a few of the best and worst dressed from the top four award shows.

Golden Globes:
Of the many outfits that were complete catastrophes, there were some that were actually pretty amazing.  Take Diane Kruger: wearing a Emilia Wickstead original, she awed viewers as she walked down the red carpet before the award show started, and she really should have walked the catwalk in that dress too.  Similar to Kruger, Reese Witherspoon showed up in a Calvin Klein masterpiece, every inch fitting her body to perfection and bedazzling the eyes of onlookers.  Not to be outdone, Kate Beckinsale was flawless in Elie Saab Couture.  Not sure there’s even anything to say about this one, I think everyone was too speechless.

Grammys: There were so many bad outfits at this award show that I barely even know where to begin.  The

enormous pink pouf dress Rihanna wore to the Grammys this year was designed by none other than Giambattista Valli.  Rihanna is what some people would call a “fashion icon,” but if wearing something like this constitutes that title, I’d rather look like a slob than be called a fashion icon.  Sporting a Jean Paul Gaultier gown, Kim Kardashian proved that it’s perfectly okay to bedazzle your bathrobe and wear it to a prestigious award show.  Beaded backless frock: the three words to perfectly describe Katy Perry’s all too revealing gown.  Apparently showing everything is in style now.

SAG: Camila Alves set the bar high for the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards this year, stunning all in her beautiful purple gown.  She looked absolutely gorgeous on the red carpet; Matthew McConaughey could take a hint from his wife.  Let’s be honest: Julia Louis-Dreyfus rocked the lace on her dress this year at the SAG Awards, and her dress fit perfectly.  Her hair and makeup were also amazing; the only thing that could be fixed with this look was to continue the lace all the way down.  Other than that, there are no complaints.

Oscars: The question I have to Marion Cotillard’s designer is this: what is the purpose of the black strip of fabric at the back of this dress? It makes absolutely no sense, and the pattern of the white looks like the surface of a golf ball.  The bottom of Sienna Miller’s dress was probably the best part because of the lace.  The top was confusing and strange to look at with the collar being so high and all of those random bows.  Normally whenever Naomi Watts is brought up in regards to fashion, it’s because of how stunning she looks or how she dared to wear the impossible.  This time, it’s because of the brick-like looking pattern on her dress and the fact that the black band on her back looks like the back of a sports bra, but sparkly.  I was extremely disappointed when she walked out in this, especially after looking so amazing at earlier award shows.
