The critically acclaimed Mockingjay, Part 1 hit theaters on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014. The third book to The Hunger Games series is portrayed in a two-part movie. Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, and Julianne Moore star in the 123- minute movie. Mockingjay begins where Catching Fire left off. Katniss (Lawrence)  is in District 13 coping with the capture of Peeta (Hutcherson). Coin (Julianne Moore), the president of 13, tells Katniss of the plans to overthrow the Capitol, and Katniss is to be the face of the revolution.

Mockingjay, Part 1 receives 4.5 stars out of 5. The movie followed the book to a “T” and Francis Lawrence’s direction in the movie does Suzanne Collins’s third book justice. The story line of Mockingjay starts off slow, but the movie does an impeccable job of keeping the audience on the edge of their seats. Unlike the previous movies in The Hunger Games series, Mockingjay, Part 1 is able to haunt your nightmares.

A range of emotions phased me throughout the showing, but one that was evident more than the others was anger. The movie excels at giving the viewer an experience that not only the characters are living but everyone in the theatre as well.. The soundtrack of Mockingjay, Part 1  is the best of the trilogy. Katniss (Lawrence) sings the i-Tunes chart topper, In the Hanging Tree. I loved the components of this movie and how they converge into a fantastic whole.

Find out in the third movie of The Hunger Games series if Peeta is revived from the Capital’s grasp, or if the flame between Gale and Katniss will continue to burn. Mockingjay will take you on a thrilling adventure that will have you begging to become a part of the Rebellion.
