Mini acts of terrorism have been a growing topic and issue in the world lately. In State of Affairs, terrorism is a common storyline, a group that is marked by an Ar Issalah symbol, which represents an Islamic extremist group recruiting Americans. State of Affairs stars Katherine Heigl, a CIA agent who is the morning briefer for the president (Alfre Woodard). Charleston Whitney (Heigl) copes with the loss of her fiance in a covert mission, while searching for the terrorist group that murdered him.

Each episode is full of action and insight within the government, as well as the measures taken in order to run the country and CIA. Heigl does a fantastic job of fully encompassing the character of Charlie and the seriousness of a government job. I give State of Affairs 4.6 out of 5 stars. Unlike most government shows, State of Affairs focuses on the ties between terrorism and action instead of the corruption and sexual relations in government.

State of Affairs runs on Mondays at 9 pm.
