Van Buren's Senior Class hosted the second annual 3v3 Basketball Tournament which started just after 6:00 p.m. Friday. 14 teams and 42 total players participated in the fundraiser, which benefits the Senior class' trip to Chicago in April. A total of 27 games were played this evening, with each team playing in at least two games. Several games came down to the wire, including four games which were
decided by a sudden death shootoff in overtime. Kona Ice, which serves shaved ice in a variety of flavors, helped keep the athletes and spectators cool during some very heated match ups!

After fighting off a loss in the first championship game of the tournament, Cole Ohlrich, Luke Rickenbacher, and Jameson Jacobs stormed back to claim this year's title. Trailing by two points with less than five seconds remaining, Riley Adolph hit a 3-pointer to force a second game in the double-elimination bracket, but could not finish off their championship run. Congratulations to all of the participants in today's event! For more information on the bracket and results, click here, or view The Knight Writer's page here.

While high school basketball took over the courts today, Van Buren will be hosting another round of basketball tomorrow. The Special Olympics sectional playoffs will continue tomorrow, after being rescheduled from last weekend due to weather concerns. Several Van Buren student athletes will be volunteering at the event, so come out and support it!

The rest of the weekend will be quiet around Van Buren, but Monday will mark the start of another school week. Sophomores will also begin taking the OGTs. Seniors will have 2-hour delays this week due to this testing.
