In a little over a week, spring break begins! If you’re stuck in dreary, abysmal Ohio here’s some ideas of things you can do to occupy yourself, so you don’t have to be jealous of all the beach pics on Facebook. 1) Support our school Go see the musical! The cast members have worked very hard on creating an enjoyable show, show them you appreciate it and go see it. Tickets are only $5 for students so it’s not a strain on your wallet either. There are showings Friday and Saturday. 2) Catch up time! Use this free time to do all those things you've been putting off. College scholarships, excessive homework, or other items that have been stuck on your to-do list for a while. Yes, it’s a bummer doing work over break. But if you finish it early you won’t have to worry and can actually enjoy yourself. 3) Reconnect with the outside Pick the warmest day you can, grab a camera or your bike, and enjoy outside. It’s slowly but surely warming up so be thankful for it. Turn off the electronics and use the time to clear your head. The stressed teens we are deserve it. 4) Veg out For every break, you’re entitled to one veg day. Stay in pajamas, invite your besties over, and have a movie marathon. Stuff your faces and gossip endlessly. High school can get crazy, what better release is there than a plethora of Disney movies and cookies? 5) Attend Something Old, Something New: Wedding Dresses If you’re a history buff, you might like this. The event features wedding dresses throughout the ages accompanied by their past owners’ love stories. The event takes place at the Hancock County Historical Museum on this coming Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5. 6) Pull an April Fool’s Day prank Get back at your family or friends for stunts they've pulled in the past with one of your own. Some of my personal favorites are included below. Just make sure you’re prepared for possible backlash if you commit a prank! Enjoy (images courtesy of Pinterest). Surprise rainbowSpray day: tie a rubber band or hair tie around the spray nozzle on your sink if you have one and watch the first person to turn the sink on get soaked! 7) Do some spring cleaning Sort through your clothes and see if there are any you can donate, organize your school supplies, or tidy up around the house for a nice surprise for your parents. Spring is a time for starting anew, clearing the clutter is a great way to. |
