Yesterday, Saturday January 11th, was a day filled with basketball! The third through sixth grade boys kicked the day off with games in the elementary against each other starting at 9 A.M. They played four, 10 minute quarters with the third and fourth graders agianst wach other, and the fifth and sixth graders against each other. The varsity boys basketball players were the referees and the scorekeepers for the games! At 10:30 A.M. the third through sixth grade girls did the exact same thing! With the varsity girls basketball team being the referees and scorekeepers. It was all friendly competition to get the young ones up and active on a Saturday morning! Later last night the JV and Varsity boys teams pounded on the Royals from Elmwood to gain a game in the win column. JV's final score was 43-13 and held the Royals to only 8 points by half time. While the varsity team stopped Elmwood from scoring any points in the third quarter to win the game 69 to 25. Sophomore Marcus Brand led the team in scoring with 18 points while Sawyer Junge was to far behind him with 15. Roberts added 5 assists and 9 points as well for the Black Knight win! |
