Day 23: Commit a random act of kindness. While you’re out shopping on the last day before Christmas Eve, there are simple acts you can do. Let someone in front of you in line. They may be really busy and getting through faster could be a small help to them. Smile at somebody and completely mean it. A smile is contagious, even from strangers, and may lead them to smile and spread some simple Christmas cheer. Talk to your cashiers. They spend all day on their feet working extended hours to make Christmas happen, start a genuine conversation with them. If you have the money, offer to pay for someone’s tab when you’re out to eat or the people behind you in line at the drive-thru. To them, it’s a pleasant surprise, and will make you feel good doing this and the other acts throughout the day.
