Day 6: Buy hand warmers and give them to the Salvation Army bell ringers outside of Walmart or Kroger. Maybe even make them a thank-you card. They are volunteering their time, after all, and this is an easy opportunity to spread some kindness. You might as well give a couple dollars, too! The girls' basketball team put up 53 points against McComb last night, but unfortunately could not top the Panthers as they lost 53-69. Nichole Miller dished out 6 assists and Paige Sudlow put up a team high of 17 points. The girls' record is now 1-1. Yesterday, UF's men's basketball team (#8), in true Buckeye fashion, won 88-78 over Michigan's Lake Superior State University. Tonight the boys' basketball team will face the Eagles at LBHS. The JV game starts at 6 p.m. Students attending are encouraged to wear all black attire as the team hopes to blackout the Eagles. Check back tonight for results of the game. Tomorrow the VB gymnasium will host two games as the girls will take on Lima Shawnee at 12 p.m. followed by the boys' team who will play Miller City with JV starting at 5 p.m. *note the change in game start time* In world news, the first black president of South Africa, Nelson Mandela, his character better known to high school students as portrayed by Morgan Freeman in the movie Invictus, passed away at age 95. |
