The Van Buren Wrestling Invitational has the school parking lot packed and newspaper articles talking. Van Buren finished the first day of the weekend tournament with 33 sitting at 12th place. VB wrestlers Santos Miranda, Chance Sonnenberg, and Isaac Sexton qualified for semifinals and hope to pull Van Buren up in the rankings as they wrestle today. Last night the VB boys' basketball team demolished yet another BVC team. The Leipsic Vikings, who had a winning record going into the game, fell twelve points shy of the Knights' 54. The top scorers of the night were Braxton Fasone (14) and Mac Williams (10). This BVC win improved their record to 7-5 and league record to 4-1 which keeps them in the running for a share of the BVC title. The boys play tonight at Tiffin Calvert. The girls' basketball team also has a game tonight against the Hornets at Cory Rawson starting at 6 p.m. where they hope to pull out a league win. |
