Both of Van Buren's High School Choirs, the Mixed Chorus and Varsity Choir, drove south on Saturday to Lima Shawnee High School. Here, they competed in the District 3 OMEA Adjudicated Event (or, as most people call it, District Contest.) Both choirs received a I, which is a Superior rating. This means that both choirs qualify for the State Choir Contest which will take place next month. Each choir has demonstrated immense growth in the months since the winter concert, and this contest clearly demonstrated it. They are looking forward to continuing to work on their pieces.
