Last night and into this morning, the snow accumulation for 2013-2014 winter was surpassed with 1.6" of falling and blowing snow. This snow added to the total amount of snow this winter to 73.5", surpassing 1977-1978's record of 73.1". If you all recall the blizzard of '78, one of the worst blizzards of all time, we have beaten the total amount of snow for that year and we are expected to get 5-7 more inches over the weekend, going into Monday. Last night the boys basketball team took on Tinora and though down by 11 at the beginning of the game, the boys pulled through and won 74-67 and will play Paulding High School this Friday at 6:15 p.m. at Defiance. Chance Sonnenberg will be making his second year in a row trip to State tonight. Chance wrestles in the 160 lb weight class and the school will be "sending him off" today with 10 minutes left in the day. If you get a "chance," wish Chance good luck! Tomorrow during 9th period in the high school gym, there will be an assembly for the Power Team who is coming to show us what they can do. The Power Team is a group of Christian Evangelists who incorporate their preaching with strength and martial arts skills. Have a wonderful day! |
