The 2014 Winter Olympics have closed with Russia taking the most gold medals, with Norway and Canada taking 2nd and 3rd.

Following widespread protests, the current President of the Ukraine has resigned. Oleksander Turchynov, Parliament Leader, has been appointed to the position of interim President.

And finally, a senior Taliban commandant was killed in Pakistan this week.
