Congratulations to the Van Buren students who participated in the Food Science CDE, placed second, and will advance to the State Tournament! As well, a more specific congratulations to Ebonie Garnes, who placed fourth in overall contestants.

In national news, the governor of Hawaii is set to sign a bill making gay marriage legal in Hawaii. This would make Hawaii the 15th state to permit gay marriage. The confirmed death toll in the Philippines after the typhoon has also climbed to at least 2,275 people.
