The UF men's basketball team squeaked out a win last night against Saginaw Valley State. Senior Mark Frilling made a game-winning defensive play that resulted in the UF victory of 80-79 over Saginaw Valley. The Oilers improved their record to 8-3.

The VB boys' basketball team is looking for another conference win tonight as they take on the Vanlue Wild Cats home with the JV game starting at 6 p.m. The student section plans on getting wild, so students attending should plan on wearing animal print or jungle-like attire.

Yesterday, teachers went head-to-head with the High School Quiz Bowl team in the annual teachers versus students quiz bowl competition. The teachers, with their college education and Jeopardy-contestant brains, were the winners of the night.

The Winter Olympics is only one month away and are set to take place in Sochi, Russia, but athletes are concerned about the location as the police reported six suspicious deaths a mere 150 miles from the site. Police found explosives along with the dead bodies which brings about the same fear that followed the Boston Marathon bombing. A thorough security sweep has been issued for the area in order to ensure the safety of the athletes.
