Macy’s Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade will catch the attention of over 3.5 million people filling the streets in New York City, N.Y. and over 50 million viewers watching live at home on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014. This is the 88th year Macy’s has hosted the parade, with over 8,000 participants taking over 2.5 miles of the island of Manhattan. The parade has been known for showing off talented musicians, dancers, celebrities, balloons, and giant floats of beloved animated characters. The parade’s lineup for this year features 16 large character balloons, 33 novelty balloons/balloonicles, 27 floats, 1,300 cheerleaders and dancers, 1,000 clowns, and 12 marching bands. The Broadway performers of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, Stings, The Last Ship, On the Town, Side Show, and Finding Neverland have also been scheduled to perform during the parade, as well as a sneak preview of Peter Pan Live! which will air on Dec. 4, 2014 at 8 p.m. on NBC. Starting off the parade will be 2014 Little League World Series’ Champions, Philadelphia Taney Dragons, a group of children who have played a role in the parade by encouraging teamwork. The Taney Dragons will lead the entire parade down the streets of Manhattan, along with Macy's Parade Executive Producer, Amy Kule. For those interested in tuning into Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, there will be a live broadcast at 9 a.m. Thanksgiving Day on NBC and CBS.
