Fall is a hectic time for Ashley Overmyer, but that doesn’t stop this girl from having fun and excelling at all she does. She balances school, work, and managing the football team, all during a stellar golf season as she wears the crown of #1 female golfer in the BVC. “It’s exciting and I enjoy it,” she says in regards to being at the top of the conference, “but it’s kind of intimidating because everyone is looking at you and expects a lot out of you, and I prefer to have fun out on the golf course.”

She plans to major in Business Marketing at the University of Cincinnati, Miami University, or The Ohio State University, and is on the right track for that as a supervisor at Plato’s Closet. Even as a boss of some fellow classmates, she sees herself as a team player, in charge of ensuring that everyone is having fun while making the most of the business. Other future plans include training for a triathlon with her dad next summer, and a bucket list item is to participate in the Ironman Triathlon by the time she is 30. Her golf score may be low, but her dreams are always high!

What is the best you’ve shot this year? Where was it at? 84 at Celina (Fox’s Den)

What is the biggest frustration you face in golf? Focusing. I like to have fun, and sometimes I forget that I’m playing golf and not socializing.

What is your favorite part of being a football manager? Just the whole environment. I like being around the coaches and the players, and I love football so it’s fun to be out on the field and experience all of the things they’re experiencing.

Is it ever weird being one of the few girls on the football field among a bunch of guys? I don’t mind it at all, actually. I like the energy levels that all of the guys have.

What is your favorite part about senior year so far? I like it all. It’s weird though, for sure, walking around the building and being the oldest ones besides the teachers.

If you could be any Avenger (or superhero in general), who would you be? Well, my favorite is Ironman. But I like the girl in The Avengers...The Black Widow. Her being a lady, I feel like she does a great job standing out from the guys.
