Although she says she will miss the sport and her teammates, Orchard has a bright future ahead of her. Having applied to six colleges, both in Ohio and Florida, her options are open. “I really like the University of Florida, Ohio State University, and Ohio University. I like the idea of living in Florida but I would be far away from the rest of my family.”

Orchard says she plans to study dietetics because it has always interested her. “Ever since my grandma was diagnosed with cancer, I realized how important it is to watch what you eat,” she says. “So, I want to be able to help people eat well and be healthy.”

Aside from playing volleyball, Orchard is a part of the National Honor Society and St. Paul’s youth group. She also works at Stevi B’s.  Her hobbies include reading, writing, and listening to Phillip Phillips and Dave Matthews.

What is one interesting talent you have that many people don’t know about? I can make very weird faces.

What is #1 on your bucket list? To go to Australia.

If you could have dinner with any one person, dead or alive, who would it be and why? My grandma because I miss her a lot and I want to update her on my life.

I know you have some interesting pets at home. What are they? What are their names? I have three dogs: Buster Brown, Max, and Mazy. I have a tortoise named Buddy and a turtle named Ledger. I have a bird named Prince Charming, a chinchilla named Dusty, and a bearded dragon named Mr. Magoo.
