Throughout the school year, Corey Spoon is kept busy by various activities. He was a part of the boys’ soccer team in the fall; he is a member of the Varsity Choir and he continues to keep himself active on the baseball team by being a senior leader, playing left field. Outside of school, he just finished his second year as a Gliding Stars volunteer.

Corey plans to attend The Citadel Military College of South Carolina or West Point Military Academy in New York. After college he intends on becoming an officer in the U.S. Army and work with the Military Police.

What made you decide to go into the military? I have a lot of family that have served in the military and they have been my motivation to want to serve. My grandpa is the person that has motivated me the most and carrying on his legacy is probably the biggest thing that has pushed me to that decision.

What are your expectations for baseball this season? I want our team to have a winning season this year. I want us to grow as a team, not only with talent, but dedication, and hopefully that will take us far in tournament.

What is your favorite car and why? My favorite vehicle is definitely a Jeep! Jeeps are so reliable, good-looking, powerful, and who would not love to own one?

What is your best high school memory? The trip to Chicago with Ted, especially when we went into the Bentley store!

If you could choose to be any animal what would you be and why? If I was an animal I would want to be a monkey! Monkeys are pretty funny and cute and I think it would be fun to be one.

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time? My favorite thing to do in my free time is hang out with my friends. Whether that is going out to eat, building a physics project, or working out, I always seem to have a great time with my friends!
