Senior Courtney Van Horn has just entered the busiest time of her year. After finishing her cross country career with her best time (23:15), she dives right in to the winter season which is packed full of singing, dancing, and skating.

Van Horn is involved in The Association and is a Gliding Stars instructor. The responsibilities and activities of these programs

take up a large amount of her time; however, she says she wouldn’t want to spend it any other way.

“I get to interact with all of the kids and I love seeing them grow throughout the year, and the program changes my life, as well, which is awesome,” Van Horn simply described her position for the Gliding Stars program.

Van Horn’s plans for after high school is to stay close to home by attending Bowling Green State University and majoring in business.

What was your favorite race that you ran in out of all four years of high school and why? Columbus Grove my sophomore year, because it’s a really fast course, I got my fastest time there, we finished on the track with music playing and people cheering as we end, and my brother came to that meet to surprise me!

Favorite place to perform for show choir and why? Twinsburg, because at the end when we are waiting for results they have a huge mosh pit with music blaring. Bryan Lako crowd surfed once, and it’s just a great experience.

In one word describe your high school career. Real.

What is your most embarrassing moment from your high school career? I don’t really have one from high school, but when I was in second or third grade I was sitting by Mac Williams at lunch, he told me a funny joke, I laughed and Sunny-D shot out of my nose.

Do you think candy corn is a Halloween candy or Thanksgiving candy? Halloween. (You can vote here!)

Favorite Halloween costume? My blue M&M costume from this year because Jen Irving let me borrow it.
