The Big, Bad Senior Emily Anderbery Draeton Fasone, an Indiana native, moved to Van Buren, Ohio in 2008 as a sixth grader. He is the oldest of three boys, Braxton, a sophomore, and Khail, a freshman. As he entered high school, his athletic skills made it clear that he would be playing for the Black Knights as a football player and basketball player. His senior year, Fasone was a wide receiver on the offensive side and safety on the defensive side, he is referred to as a “vicious animal” by his teammates. Fasone helped lead the team to the first ever 11th week in Black Knight history as the football captain. In basketball Fasone is also the team leader and a starting guard. He says being a leader for his teammates is rewarding, but also frustrating for him and his peers. For this basketball season Fasone hopes that the team will win the Blanchard Valley Conference title through consistency and hard work. Along with sports, Fasone is involved in Art IV at Van Buren and sketches in his free time. Despite the obstacle of being color-blind, he was voted “Most Artistic” by his classmates. After high school Fasone plans on furthering his education in college, although he has not decided on where he will go and what he will major in. Fasone will miss high school and knowing everyone around him; he will also miss his friends.
