Rachell Resnik Joel Schumacker just finished up a strong cross country season, qualifying for the regional cross country meet as an individual and named MVP of the boys’ team. Schumacker ran number one for the boys’ team all year and finished sixth in the area cross country standings, running a personal record of 16.48.8. Schumacker doesn’t stop there, though. This star runner is also a star on the stage as a member of The Association. Schumacker, a 4-year member of VB’s choir and show choir, was recently awarded “Outstanding Performer” at the Ada Music Feast. He also enjoys playing the guitar and piano. After high school, Schumacker plans on enlisting in the military, either the Army or the Marines. He then plans on attending college in pursuit of a degree in nursing and becoming a part of the ROTC program, furthermore getting his doctorate and becoming a pediatric nurse. Favorite song to sing? Banana Pancakes by Jack Johnson, because it is my kind of genre, it’s laid back but I can put a lot of soul into it. Most memorable race? Columbus Grove my senior year, because I broke 17 minutes and I broke it by 12 seconds. Favorite meal? A tie between lasagna and chili. Best place to run? Van Buren trails, because not only do I get a good run in, but I get to see the great outdoors. Favorite show choir competition? Ada, because we always kick butt there. Best time to wear a striped sweater? All the time. |
