Senior Spotlight: Sawyer Junge

After taking a year off, Sawyer Junge is back on the court again for his 3rd year of basketball starting varsity and leading the team as a senior captain. Junge was also a standout athlete on the golf course, making four appearances at the state tournament, and earning 1st team BVC and all Northwest district honors.


A leader on and off the court, Junge actively participates in the skating program Gliding Stars and National Honor Society.

Junge’s drive for success will continue with plans to major in Business and minor in Marketing or Accounting at Wittenberg University.


What is your favorite golf memory? Qualifying for state my freshman year because no one expected it and it was the first time one of coach Heitkamp’s teams had been there in five years.


Who is your biggest influence? My dad because anything he does he gives 100% he is always working hard at something.


One thing on your Christmas list: A winter coat for college.


Any New Year’s resolutions that you are planning to make? Even though its the second of semester of my senior year I am going to try to get straight A’s.


If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and who would you bring? I would like to travel around Europe with my closest friends.


Favorite post-game meal? Landing Pad pizza


Childhood nickname? Soy Boy, Soy Sauce, Beanie, Soy Bean, Saw dawg.
