The Van Buren boys’ basketball team put up four consecutive wins this last month to improve their record to 8-6 (4-2 BVC). One of the most impressive games of the season was their win against Leipsic who had a winning record prior to the match-up.

The boys have also had an impressive at-home record as they've gone 5-2 when hosting opponents. The boys hope to improve this record to 6-2 tomorrow night as they take on the Hardin Northern Polar Bears in a conference game.

The Knights have done a lot of things well throughout the season, such as out-rebounding and posting better field goal, 3-pointer, and free throw percentages than all of the opponents they have played this year.

The seniors on the team have showed tremendous leadership as varsity starter Sawyer Junge leads the team in total points and rebounds, while Daniel Roberts leads the team in assists and currently sits at the number two spot in area rankings with 72. The other seniors on the team are Mac Williams and Aaron Franklin.

The Knights average 60.4 points per game, outscoring opponents by 13 points per game. The Knights have surpassed their total wins last year by five, and with seven games left, they are on their way to hitting that double-digit win total, something they haven’t done since
varsity Coach Marc Bishop took over as head coach.
