From Saturday morning cross country meets to Friday night football games, fall is the busiest sport season for the black knights. With over 170 sporting events on the schedule and a grand total of 9 varsity teams and 7 JV teams in competition, the school is packed with diligent student athletes. This means that there are tons of opportunities for students to see and support their participating peers.

Almost every day of the week at least one VB sports team is in action. Some days even more than one and that's when things get crazy. Saturday, Sept. 7 was one of these sports extravaganzas. The cross country team ran at Spencerville where the girls placed 7th overall and boys 10th. The volleyball girls were busy with a tri-match at Carey. The varsity boys' golf team was hosting their Black Knight Classic while the JV boys were at NB competing. The JV boys' soccer team took on Lima Temple Christian, away. And football had their long journey to Columbus to play Lucasville Valley.

On Sept. 18 the school parking lot was packed for two huge home games: the soccer girls had their rival game against the Liberty Benton Eagles down in the gully while the volleyball team took on Hardin Northern in the annual Volley for the Cure match not 200 yards away in the the gymnasium. This was also the day that the boys' golf team brought home the BVC title, their 7th consecutive conference championship.

Three days later, in addition to the ACT which affected many of the upperclassmen student athletes, five more events took place. VB hosted the girls' soccer game against Elida as well as JV football's game versus Arcadia. Cross country had their “home” meet on the new course at Owen's Community College, and the boys' golf team competed in a varsity match at New Albany and a JV match at Allen East.

Needless to say, fall has been packed full of sports sports sports for the black knights, providing plenty of opportunities for students to watch and support their participating peers and fellow student athletes.

Congratulations to all of the fall sports teams on a great season so far and best of luck in tournaments! Go black knights!
